Anthony Joseph Drexel Biddle Jr., a member of two prominent Philadelphia families, was a diplomat for the United States during and after World War II. He also served on Dwight Eisenhower’s staff during the war. Lownie contacted Biddle’s son, Anthony Joseph Drexel Biddle III, while researching his new book on the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and Biddle informed him that plenty of his father’s papers are available. The elder Biddle was also the subject of a 2019 exhibition at Drexel University. Interested biographers can contact Biddle’s son for more information.
