National Book Festival Goes Virtual Again

As it was in 2020, the Library of Congress’ National Book Festival will be held online, giving readers across the country a chance to participate. The events will take place September 17–26, with a theme of “Open a Book, Open the World.” Content will be available for free through videos on demand, live conversations with authors, a podcast series, and a national television special. Some ticketed events will also be held at the library, as COVID restrictions allow. At press time, the festival was still announcing the authors taking part. Biographers and historians currently scheduled to appear include Annette Gordon-Reed and Isabel Wilkerson. BIO members set to participate are Kai Bird, Janice P. Nimura, and David O. Stewart. Look for details on their events in this month’s “Members’ Events” listing. Find more information about the festival here.
