Two BIO members have secured new book deals:
- Devoney Looser has secured a book deal for Wild for Austen, a collection of 25 essays exploring Jane Austen’s writing, life, and legacy, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of her birth. It was sold to St. Martin’s Press by Stacey Glick at Dystel, Goderich & Bourret.
- Adam Henig is under contract to Rowman & Littlefield for Baseball’s Outlaw: The Story of Ron LeFlore.

- November 3: Ilyon Woo, author of Master Slave Husband Wife: An Epic Journey from Slavery to Freedom (Simon & Schuster, 2023), in conversation with Kitty Kelley.
- November 10: Thomas Hertog, author of On the Origin of Time: Stephen Hawking’s Final Theory (Bantam, 2023), in conversation with John A. “Jack” Farrell.
- November 17: Mary Ann Caws, author of Mina Loy: Apology of Genius (Reaktion Books, 2022), in conversation with Jennifer Skoog.
- November 24: Edward O’Shea, author of Seamus Heaney’s American Odyssey (Routledge, 2022), in conversation with Kitty Kelley.

Eve Kahn is giving a talk about her subject, “Zoey Anderson Norris: Gilded Age Journalist and Homeless Rights Advocate,” as part of the Malkin Lecture Series, on December 4, at the Park Avenue Armory, in New York City. More information and tickets are available here.
Steve Kemper has received the 2023 Dillon Award from the American Academy of Diplomacy for the year’s best book about “the Practice of American Diplomacy” for his biography Our Man in Tokyo: An American Ambassador and the Countdown to Pearl Harbor (Mariner Books). Learn more here.
Eugene L. Meyer reviewed Martin Baron’s Collision of Power: Trump, Bezos, and The Washington Post (Flatiron Books, October 2023), for the Washington Independent Review of Books. You can read the review here.
Raquel Ramsey is working with Vanilla Fire Productions as an executive director, to bring her biography of her late sister-in-law—Taking Flight: The Nadine Ramsey Story—to the screen. It will premiere on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Simon Wiesenthal Center at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.

Stacy Schiff gave a talk about her most recent book, The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams, as part of the Malkin Lecture Series, on November 14, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, with BIO Executive Director Michael Gately. More information is available here.
