On May 19–21, the annual BIO Conference returns to Boston, where the organization held its first gathering in 2010. On Friday, the conference offers optional tours of the Boston Athenaeum and the Massachusetts Historical Society; for descriptions of the tours, follow the “Program” link below. After the tours, biographers will give brief readings from new biographical works. The day concludes with an opening reception, which is a fund-raising event for Biographers International Organization.
On Saturday, the conference features research workshops, a full day of panels, numerous networking opportunities, a coaching program, sessions with agents, a conversation between two highly respected biographers, a keynote address by Candice Millard, the 2017 BIO Award winner, and the announcement of the winner of the Plutarch Award for the best biography of 2016, as chosen by BIO members.
Sundays, attendees can choose to attend one of four optional in-depth workshops, for descriptions of the workshops, follow the “Program” link below.
